Show Us Your ...

I'm a paid up member of the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA), I was lucky enough to breastfeed all 3 of my beautiful children and I regularly turn up to the Shoalhaven Group meetings of the ABA.

I've seen a few 'Boob' beanie around but I hadn't thought about making one.  That was until someone approached me last week via Facebook.
I was just wondering if you make boobie beanies? I think they are just so funny and would love to have one for when I have my daughter in June. I haven't been able to find anyone who makes them in Australia so if you can make one I would be thrilled! I'm positive the midwives at the hospital would get a good laugh out of it
How could I say no, espeically to a Mum who is looking forward to breastfeeding her child.  So I convert my Gumnut beanie pattern into a Boob Beanie.  What do you think?

Love, Love, Love

Okay so I'm a little excited about how this pixie hat turned out.  I've had this idea for a beanie/bonnet sketched out for a long time now.  Last night I finally got around to crocheting it.

I also made this one too.

Both items were made using a chunky bamboo/wool yarn which I got from SewGood/KnitToo in Sanctuary Point.

Frogging ... not flogging!

Here in Percyland we've been taking it easy, sure I had plans to weed the front garden and wash and vacuum my car but after a very busy and long day in the info centre at the Lady Denman Heritage Complex yesterday, I felt that I should allow myself to relax and crochet something new.

So I've just spent the good part of today playing with a new hat pattern, initially I thought "this is going to be way to big" but I persisted as I have been wrong in the past.  I should of gone with my gut!  This is supposed to fit a child 3-5 years.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to frog this slouchy and start again.

Happy Easter!

Chunky Photographic Range

I've been working with Aymie Louise Portrait Photographer for a while now.  Our little ones go to the same daycare centre.  I must seem very boring to Aymie as my hair colour never changes and Aymie's is always a new colour.  My Miss H adores Aymie's boys, their names get mentioned quite a bit in our house.

Aymie is responsible for all of my beautiful baby images, including this one which will appear in The South Coast Register's 3rd Annual edition of Zero to Nine Magazine which is a publication dedicated to pregnancy, birth baby, toddlers, children and parents.

Aymie is also the inspiration for my new range of beanies, she suggested last year that I should do some chunky beanies using art yarn but I just hadn't got around to it until this March.  I got some beautiful art yarn from SewGood,KnitToo and I also splashed out and bought some hand spun yarn from a Melbourne based spinner on Etsy.

These beanies are currently available (April 2012) in my madeit.com.au store.
More beanies will be available over the next few months and as always I am happy to custom make beanies in your choice of colours.
