Do you remember The Dark Crystal?

After seeing the latest Muppet movie a month or so ago, Brett and I decided to introduce the kids to the wonderful world of Jim Henson and the Muppets.

We got the original Muppet Movie out of video, the Video Library only had it on video and not on DVD.  We then tracked down the Muppets Take Manhattan on the AppleTV and last week I got The Dark Crystal out on DVD.

I was glad to see that all there Dr Who watching hadn't make this movie lame.  In fact they found it as scary as I did when I saw it in the 80s.  I think we'll have to get the Labyrinth out next.

CHA Craft Swap

Recently I took part in the Contemporary Handmade Alliance's craft swap.

I made this slouchy for my Craft Swap Partner Skye from SummaSkye.  It was made using 100% pure new wool in teal.  The pattern is by Rachel Choi.

This morning I was delighted to receive my Swap Gift!!

I hated having to open it as the wrapping was so pretty!

Wow!!  I adore the colour green and she has even included some delicate crochet lace!  Perfect.  I've been admiring this hoops for ages now, I've even created a Pinterest board devoted to them.

I've placed my hoop on my book shelf, above my growing collection of crochet book, along with my treasured brass rocking horse I found in Huskisson in 2009 and my Renee Anne print which Brett framed for me last Christmas.

Thank you Skye, I simply adore my gift!

SoulFood: Chemo Cap

"Thanks C for being beautiful and putting such effort in for my special order beanie for a friends daughter who is going through chemo. The beanie is delivered and was loved. The mum was touched by the effort you put in for them. Thanks again beautiful xxx"

Of all the beanies I've made this year, this has been the one that has caused me some worry.  I'm so glad she likes it and I hope that in some small way I can make this little girls journey a little easier.
