Little Toot Creations

A big THANK YOU to Bec at Little Toot Creations for their donation of a Nappy Pant and Singlet Set in green, this has been added to the hamper the Shoalhaven  Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Associations' will be raffling in May/June.

What I love about Little Toot is the quality of the workmanship gone into each item.  I know this first hand from a great Tee with matching jean short I got a few weeks ago for my #2 Son.

Another great thing is the fact this mother of two little girls makes boys clothing - yes you did read that correctly - she makes great looking boys clothes for 3-8 years olds.

The Shoalhaven group is currently raising funds to buy a new breast pump which they can hire out at very reasonable prices to breastfeeding Mums in the Shoalhaven area.

Breast Pumps have come along way in the last 10 years and our old one wasn't up to scratch, why would you hire our big old single electric pump when there are smaller, lighter double models on offer!  Most ABA Groups have breast pumps for hire, the funds from the hire is usually used to run breastfeeding Community Education seminars and Breastfeeding Classes for expectant mothers and there partners.

Please note:  I am a member of the Shoalhaven Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association.

a LiLLie bug

A big THANK YOU to a LiLLie bug for their donation of a fitted bamboo Nappy which will be part of the Shoalhaven Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Associations' 2010 raffle.

This is the perfect addition to our raffle hamper as many ABAers also use modern cloth nappies (me being one of them).  I had a good look at the donated nappy and I was very impressed with its overall quality but best of all the amount of snaps which fasten the nappy together - there are enough provided to enable you to use these on your little one for a good 12 months (or more).

Not only does a LiLLie bug make beautifully made nappies, they also make some lovely dresses, stroller liners, pants, sleep wear, wall hangers and more!

Crocheting over rope - what the?

How pretty is this bouquet of crocheted flowers!

I read an interview with Lena Maikon in Yarn Link today about her very cool new book Unexpected Crochet for the Home (Leisure Arts #4858).  What really stuck me was Lena's original idea of crocheting over rope.   I love how she made this bouquet of Wildflowers using the rope to make the steams.  What an original idea!!

There are so many talented Crochet Hooker's out there, they inspire me and intimidate me all the time.   I can only dream of creating something so unique and beautiful.

Do pirates cry?

My sons love the book "Tough Boris" by popular Australian childrens' author Mem Fox.

Its not because of the written story (sorry Mem) but because of the story that is told in the art work throughout the book.

As an ode to Boris I created this beanie.  I hope you like it.
