Gifts so Sweet

My good friend Jennie is the owner of the unique Gifts So Sweet.

Gifts So Sweet custom make gift cans for special occasions - birthdays, Easter, Christmas, naming days etc.

I use these cans to wrap my handmade creations.  Many of my friends and family used their gift can to safely store little mementos of their little ones first days/year.

As you can see from the photos below the cans are beautifully presented and are a gift in themselves.

I love Jennie's gift cans as they work so well will what I create, especially the custom order blankets which fit snugly into her largest 4ltr tin.

I have included in this post are some photos of an order that was sent to Malaysia this week.

The order consisted of a C Percy Designs custom made blanket with matching beanie and a 4ltr gift can, which as been customized with the recipient birth details.

If I do say so myself I think it looks great!

Filled 2 ltr gift cans, like these ones below, will be on sale at the next
Billycart Markets (25th September 2010 9am-3pm at the Lakes Parish Hall,
21 Lagoon Street, Narrabeen)

Print Love on

I've been a Billy Mac fan for a while now and I adore Small Town's wears as well.  Tonight in an effort to avoid cleaning up the kitchen I went looking for some other clever people on and I came across the very cool Four Legs.

And because I'm a Red Head I had to throw this one in!

Slept like a baby

The smile that flickers on baby's lips when he sleeps - does anybody know where it was borne?
Yes, there is a rumor that a young pale beam of a crescent moon touched the edge of a vanishing autumn cloud, and there the smile was first born...

Baby Love

I just love making custom orders.  I had the delightful task of making two tiny peemie size Hamish Beanies for babies Amber and Ruby over the weekend.

These beanies are made to fit a 2.7kg peemie with a head circumference of 31-33 cm and both beanies are 13 cm long (not including the turn-up cuff).

201 Crochet Motifs, Blocks Projects & IdeasI made these beanies but making my usual treble beanie and I hand sewed the letters to the front of the beanie.  I got the pattern of the letters from Melody Griffiths great book "201 crochet motifs blocks, project and ideas".

I've been lucky to have 3 happy, healthy and on time babies.  My thoughts go out to Amber and Ruby's parents, I can not imagine how hard it would be to leave my babies behind at the hospital especially when they are so little.

Today I finally finished my gift for a dear friend's daughter Abigail - it's only 12 months late!

I've been thinking about creating a Wattle inspired hat ever since I saw the spread in the March 2010 edition of French Marie Claire.

But it was the spray of yellow as I drove Master J home from school yesterday that got me thinking.

So this is what I made this morning while the tin lids watched ABC2.

What do you think?
Where do you get your inspiration from?
